Albert John Link Age 96. Passed away Peacefully, Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. A fourth generation farmer, he was born October 12, 1913 in Troy Township, on the family farm where he lived most of his life. Survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Bernice J. (nee Schmucker) Link; three daughters, Carol (Terry) Bergin, Linda (James) Smith and Bonnie (David, deceased) Delrose; one son Raymond (Dawn) Link; twelve grandchildren, Terry (Jessica) Bergin, Greg (Denise) Bergin, Peggy Bergin Mantia, Peter (Karen) Bergin; Jennifer (Bill) Cartwright; Alex (Kate) Smith, Sue (Chuck) Morin, Nancy and Zachary Smith; John and Beth Delrose and Kendra Link; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kristen Terry; Jared, Evelynn and Valerie Mantia; Laura and Lacey Bergin; James, Connor and Ryan Bergin; Henry and Piper Smith; Charlie Morin; Samantha and Sabrina Cartwright. Also survived by one sister, Leona (Albert, deceased) Ricchio; one brother, Lawrence (Lou, deceased) Link; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn in infancy; parents, Albert and Theresa (nee Offerman) Link; one brother Joseph, a WWII casualty (Sophie, nee Tomac, deceased); one sister Cecilia (Byron, deceased) Drauden. Albert thoroughly loved farming; in the past, he supplied many area restaurants and grocery stores with his farm fresh eggs. He will be remembered as a generous family man who enjoyed traveling, playing euchre and puzzles. The Link family will always be grateful to Joliet Area Community Hospice for their kindness, compassion and dedicated care. Funeral services for Albert J. Link will be Thursday, July 29, 2010, 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. John Cemetery.
