Obituary of William Lipsey

Lipsey, William H. "Bill" Age 94. Passed away January 3, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born February 24, 1917, he was a lifelong Joliet resident. A WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre with the 115th Bomb Disposal Squad in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. A recipient of the Bronze Star. Member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation B'Nai Brith. Board member of Trinity School, and a 50 year Exchange Club member. Retired Real Estate Developer. Past President of the Joliet Jewish Congregation, Joliet Chapter of Unico National, Will County Health Department, Joliet Exchange Club, and the Will County Forest Preserve. Past board member of the Guardian Angel Home, Easter Seals, Joliet Junior College Foundation Board, and past member of the Will County Board (14 years). Preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa M. "Jeri" (nee Palermo) (Sept. 23, 1983); daughter, Sharon Smithson; parents, Sam and Rose (nee Freeman) Lipsey; two brothers, Bernard J. "Bud" and Stanley Lipsey. Surviving are his two daughters, Nancy Malmfeldt and Rose (John) DelRose both of Joliet; six granddaughters, Tammy Adbughani of West Des Moines, IA, Kim (Bob) Libman of Plainfield, Jodi Kirk of Chicago, Rachel Malmfeldt of Joliet, Gina DelRose of Belvidere; Jennifer (Matt) McCann of Chicago; three grandsons, John Elliott of Rockdale, Gerald (Dawn) Malmfeldt of Minooka and Jason (Jenica) DelRose of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Jerrica and Dane Malmfeldt, Logan and Ameena Adbughani, Benjamin Kozuh, Violet McCann, Gianna Delrose, Alex and Joshua Libman; sister-in-law, Gloria D. (Wyss) Lipsey of Joliet. Funeral Services for William H. Lipsey will be Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Joliet Jewish Congregation, 250 N. Midland Avenue, Joliet with Rabbi Charles Rubovits officiating. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorials in his name to the Joliet Jewish Congregation, Easter Seals or Trinity School would be appreciated.
