Martin M. Lopez
Age 80, of Channahon, passed away peacefully, Sunday July 4, 2010 surrounded by family at his home.
Born February 24, 1930 in Joliet to the late Remedios and Vincenta Lopez, he was a lifelong area resident.
Beloved husband of Esther (nee Tapia) Lopez; Loving father of Kenneth I. (Guadalupe) Lopez, Jacqueline Procyk, James R. (Yolanda), Wayne (Gina), Michael (Anna) Lopez and Maya (Scott) Pucel. Proud grandfather many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters Josephine and Mary; one brother Joseph (Anna) Lopez and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Val Zama, Angeline Orozco, Pauline Lopez and one brother Jesse Lopez.
Martin, a crane operator, was employed by U.S. Steel for 431/2 years and after retirement, he went to work for the city of Joliet. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed the holidays, parties, archery and especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services for Martin Lopez will be Thursday, July 8, 2010, 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at :
