Edward Luchtenburg Age 85. Late of Joliet, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in the Netherlands, January 23, 1923 to the late Jacob and Annie Luchtenburg, he has resided in Joliet the past 60 years. He was a retired lineman from Natural Gas Pipeline after many years. A member of U.S. Army Infantry, he served during World War II in the South Pacific. Edward was a member of Joliet Square Dancing Club and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing. Beloved husband of 60 years to Winifred (nee Brandenburg); dear brother of John (Beverly) of Lodi, WI, and Catherine (late Robert W.) Driggers of Downers Grove, IL; proud uncle of Robert A. (Mary) Driggers of Downers Grove and Sandy (Bruce) Richmond of Lodi, WI. Several great nieces and great nephews also survive. Funeral services for Edward Luchtenburg will be Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ed's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, 4-9 p.m. at: FRED C.
