Bernard J. Lukowski
Age 91. Passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010. Born September 4, 1918 in Harvey, IL, he had been a resident of Joliet the past 17 years. A former resident of Porter County, Indiana. Retired from General Motors Electromotive Division, Chicago after 30 years of service. U.S. Army veteran of WWII and member of American Legion Post #1080. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond where he served as usher for many years.
Bernard was a friend to everyone he met, always glad to help anyone, and a "Grandpa" to many in addition to his own grandchildren.
Loving father of Paul (Janice) Lukowski of Shorewood, John Lukowski of Michigan City, IN, and Janine (Michael) Hicks of Joliet; devoted grandfather of Todd, Ginger (Tim) Jager, and Evan Lukowski; Jennifer and Jon (Emily) Lukowski; Rebecca and Jeff Hicks; three great-grandchildren, Mia and Henry Jager; and Lauren Huston Lukowski; one sister, Sr. Annunciata of the Poor Clares; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Helen M. (nee Borowiecki) Lukowski; his parents, Paul and Anastasia (Glivinski) Lukowski; siblings, Anthony, Florian, Julia, Marie and Helen.

Funeral Services for Bernard J. Lukowski will be Monday, May 3, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Poor Clares Annunciation Monastery, 6200 E. Minooka Road, Minooka, IL 60447 would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 3-8 p.m. at:
