Manns, Linda I.
(nee Hauger)
Age 71, of Channahon, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at her late residence with her family by her side, after a 6 year courageous battle with melanoma.
Survived by her husband, Gilbert Manns, together for 38 years; three children, Greg (Dorothy) Severson of Joliet, Steve (Janet) Severson of Manhattan, and Teresa (Steve) Bateman of Minooka; grandchildren Kim (Kelly) Van Hyning, Kyle (Clyde) Severson, Tyler Severson, Alex Severson, Mitchell Severson, Brandon Bateman, Chrissy Bateman, Stephanie Bateman, and one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Van Hyning; sister, Susie (Mike) Steinmetz; brother, Steve (Janet) Hauger; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Luther Edward Hauger and her mother, Edith Maurine Jansen (Peterson).
Born in Wedron, but spent most of her life in the Channahon area. Graduated from Minooka High School in 1959, retired in 2000 from Mobil Oil Joliet Refinery after 23 years of service. Former member of Midwest Crossroads Chorus of Sweet Adelines, member of Pieces of the Heart Quilt Guild. She was a wonderful lady who lived life to the fullest by enjoying quilting, gardening, music and many other hobbies, but most of all she loved her time with her family.
Funeral Services for Linda I. Manns will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 3-8 p.m. at:
