Obituary of John Marcus SR

John P. Marcus Sr. Age 72. Friday, August 14, 2009 at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Elgin, IL, and a longtime Joliet / Shorewood area resident. A 10 year U. S. Marine Corps Veteran. Retired from the Teamsters Union after many years of service. John was an avid Notre Dame sports fan. Preceded by his parents, John R. and Catherine I. Marcus. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years Suzanne (nee Hutter) Marcus of Shorewood. One son John P. (Mary) Marcus Jr. of Joliet. One daughter Lynn (Scot) Eisenbraun of Newville, Wisc. 9 grandchildren Kristen, Karen and Kevin Marcus; Nicole, Christopher, Kathryn, Jessica, Myles and Nate Eisenbraun. One brother Robert Marcus of Joliet. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for John P. Marcus Sr. will be Tuesday August 18, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Catholic Church for a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Autumn Country Club Adult Day Care Center in his name would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
