Robert H. Marion
Age 84. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A WWII U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company with over 30 years of service. Member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. A member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Adeline (Sidney) Randolph; two brothers, John and Richard Marion.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Marge (nee Hammon) Marion; one daughter, Kathryn Marion both of Joliet; two sisters, Clarissa ("Dutch") Eberhart of Diamondhead, MS, and JoAnn Stuart of Woodhaven, MI; one sister-in-law, LaVerne Marion of Aurora; one brother-in-law, Art (Marcia) Hammon of Whitefield, N.H.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Robert H. Marion will be Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, American Cancer Society, or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church would be appreciated. Interment will be Monday, June 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full honors will be accorded under the auspices of the U.S. Navy. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. at:
