Roy L. Batozech
Age 82. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A WWII U.S. Army veteran. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1981, after over 32 years of service as a supervisor/ mechanical engineer. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. One of his greatest loves was the love of a good book.
Preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary E. (nee Lowe) Batozech (2004); his parents, Louis and Carrie (nee Altenhoff) Batozech; and one brother, Ronald Batozech.
Survived by two sons, Paul (Susan) Batozech of Joliet and Jeffrey (Kim) Batozech of Sacramento, CA; one daughter, Ann (Ken) Coulter of Elmwood, IL; six grandchildren, Carrie Batozech, Olivia Lardi, Jake and Giana Batozech, Laura and Jessica Coulter; one sister, Virginia Zoleske of Joliet; nieces, nephews, and cousins including cousin Lee (Kay) Pemble also survive.
Funeral Services for Roy L. Batozech will be Friday, June 26, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army. Memorials to the Shorewood Public Library in his name would be appreciated. The family would like to express their profound appreciation to the friends and neighbors who made Roy's life so enjoyable in his later years. Visitation Thursday, 4-8 p.m. at:
