Obituary of Ursala Martin

Ursala Martin Age 92 years young, passed away Monday, March 02, 2009 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side. Born in Wilton Center, IL and a lifetime resident of Joliet, IL. She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and Providence High School. Retired from the Will County Treasurer's Office, where she also used her extremely talented skills in decoration and catering for numerous Democratic events including the Miss Illinois/Miss America Pageants. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Past President of St. Patrick's Mother's Club, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was Co-founder of Providence High School Food Service Program, and Board Member of Lewis College. She volunteered many hours helping generate revenue for the Joliet YMCA. Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Martin, Sr. (1983). Survived by her dedicated children, daughter, Marybeth (Richard) Scheuber of Joliet; son, John "Jay" Martin of Joliet; three "loves of her life", grandsons, Scott (Gloria) Scheuber of Houston, TX, Michael Scheuber of Joliet, and Brian Scheuber of Joliet; one baby sister, Genevieve Scheuber of Joliet; and many loving family and friends. Funeral Services for Ursala Martin will be Saturday, March 07, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from funeral home chapel to St. Patrick's Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Cathedral of St. Raymond or the Mercy Homes for Boys would be appreciated.
