Obituary of Vida Martin

Vida May Martin (nee Johnson) "Mimi" Age 93. Passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at her late residence in Shorewood. Born March 5, 1915 in Savannah, TN to the late George W. and Roxie (nee Haynes) Johnson. A former resident of Kennett, MO, she had been a Joliet/Shorewood area resident for the past 18 years. She was a retired registered nurse. Preceded in death by her husband, William H. Martin, Sr.; her siblings, Beatrice Johnson, Malcolm Johnson, Merle Wilburn, J.D. "Buster" Johnson, Hazel Heuback, Opal Stoddard, Martha Johnson, G. W. Johnson, Jr., Joe Jack Johnson, Clyde Johnson and Carl Dale Johnson. Survived by her son, William H. Jr. (Ann) Martin of Shorewood; two granddaughters, Lori A. (Dean) Jones of Shorewood and Cheryl L. (Ron) Fox of Joliet; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sam and Cody Jones; Tyler, Torey and Taryn Fox; and one sister, Cleo Hartmann of Florida. A Memorial Service for Vida May Martin will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.
