"Jack"
Age 74. Suddenly, Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center following complications arising from a stroke. Born in Joliet, and a lifelong Crest Hill area resident relocating to Shorewood six years ago. Former owner and operator of J & M Truck Repair. Jack's passion was restoring antique cars and had won many awards for his unique talent.
Preceded by his father, John K. Mauzer and his mother, Helen (Nick) Vrakas.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Marilyn J. (nee Allen) Mauzer of Shorewood; one son, John (Angela) Mauzer of Joliet; two daughters, Melissa (Phillip) Arnold of Sleepy Hollow, IL and Cynthia (Gene) Sidener of Kankakee, IL; four grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Justin and Ashley; one sister, Joan (the late Bob) Key of Elwood; and one brother, David (Mary Jo) Mauzer of Joliet. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for John D. Mauzer will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice in his name would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday, from 3-8 p.m. at:
