Obituary of John Krokar
Krokar John J.
Age 63. Passed away peacefully Friday, November 30, 2012 at home following a brief illness, with his loving companion, Diana, at his side. Born December 11, 1948 in Oak Lawn, he worked for the Diocese of Joliet as an electrical engineer at the St. Charles Borromeo Center. He received an Associates Degree from Joliet Junior College and also attended Governors State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
John was a loving, tender and kind man who believed strongly in his civic responsibilities. He will be remembered as a wonderful person who generously helped his neighbors, and was good to everyone he met.
Survived by his devoted companion of 20 years, Diana J. (nee Pirc) Schmitt; one daughter, Gina (Dominic) Peterson of Los Alamos, New Mexico; and five grandchildren, Lukas, Samuel, Benjamin, Ethan, and Leia Peterson.
Preceded in death by his parents, John Krokar Sr. and Irene (nee Davies) Costello.
A Memorial Mass for John J. Krokar will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Avenue, Joliet at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. All friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Cathedral from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday. Arrangements by:
