Obituary of Kevin McGann

Kevin M. McGann Age 48, of New Lenox, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Silver Cross Hospital emergency room. Born May 14, 1963 in Joliet, he was a graduate of Joliet East High School Class of 1981 and attended Joliet Junior College. Kevin served as General Manager of the family business, TIMM Electric, Inc., and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #176. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, where he served as President of the School Board and former girls basketball coach. He was the recipient of the 2002 Volunteer of the Year Award from the United Way of Will County for his work with St. Mary Magdalene School. Kevin's passions included his family, golf, woodworking, wine making, and gardening. He was also the best Dad there ever was, a proud godfather to many of his nieces and nephews, and a man with great love for his country. Surviving are his beloved wife, Kimberly Jo (nee Gougar) McGann; three adoring daughters, Emily, Jennifer and Allison, all at home; his parents, Thomas and Theodora (nee Hansen) McGann of Joliet; one sister, Michele (Robert) Scholtes of Joliet; two brothers, Thomas J. (Madelyn) McGann of Shorewood, and Steven T. (Rita) McGann of Joliet; his wife's parents, Robert J. and Eldamae Gougar; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas (Carolyn) Gougar, Laurie (Larry) Eisenbrandt, and Christine Gougar; 12 nieces and nephews; three great nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded by one brother, James Patrick McGann, in infancy; his Godfather, Uncle Terry McGann; and his grandparents. Funeral services for Kevin McGann will be Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Visitation Wednesday, from 2-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
