Donald J. McGraw
"Mac"
Age 67. Proud Irishman and Loyal Notre Dame fan, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2007 after a lingering illness. Born in Joliet June 29, 1940 to the late Donald and Evelyn (Ludwig) McGraw, he was raised in Lockport and was a Channahon/Joliet area resident. He graduated with the Class of 1958 at Joliet Catholic High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Beloved husband of 36 years to Karen (Hermann); loving father of Michael, the late John Patrick and Brent "Curly" (Tammy) McGraw; proud "Grampy" of Cailee and Cayden McGraw. Also survived by his brother, John (Sharon) McGraw, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon K. (O'Brien); his son, John Patrick, and his parents.
Mr. McGraw retired from Carpenters Union Local #174 with 40 years of service. For the past 12 years, he was an employee of Expert Optics. He was just recently elected President of the Old Timers Baseball Association and held memberships in many organizations including the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #300, Elks Lodge #296, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #1080 and the Irish American Club of County Will.
Don will be remembered as a selfless individual who always had a smile and story; he enjoyed life and the many friends it bestowed upon him. He was a great spectator and supporter of sports at all levels.
Funeral Services for Donald J. McGraw will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. at:
