Obituary of Rose McMahel

McMahel, Rose Rose McMahel Hooe (nee Schwegel), age 91, of Lake Barrington Woods, and formerly of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, May 1, 2011. She was born December 21, 1919 in St. Joseph, MN to the late Ida (nee Gillitzer) and Bill Schwegel. Beloved mother of Kenn (Donna) McMahel, Steve (Bernadine) McMahel, Dale (Marta) McMahel, Philip McMahel, Sharon (Richard) Sisson, Randy (Marie) McMahel and Nadine (Robert) Popplewell. Loving grandmother of Missey, Kenn Jr. (Thelma); Chris (Sarah), Tim; Tana, Tiffany; Sgt. Robert Demski US Army, Krystle (Brian) Goebel, Randy Jr., Megan; Ryan (Anne), Adam, Damion (Ashleigh), Jesse (Rebecca) and Candy. She was also a proud great grandmother. Also survived by two brothers, Delbert (Claudette) and Raymond (Ardelle) Schwegel; two sisters, Ida Johnson and Alvina Pfannenstein and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her first husband, Roy F. McMahel, second husband, Thomas B. Hooe and her parents. She will always be remembered by her family as a wonderful, loving person who was an avid quilter. Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 5, 2011 at 12:15 p.m. from the funeral home chapel to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
