Obituary of Thomas Moretti
Thomas L. Moretti
Age 84. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet, he was a resident of Crest Hill for 56 years, most recently living in Shorewood. Graduate of Joliet Township High School. A United States Navy Veteran with the 8th Naval Construction Battalion, he served during WWII. A member of the elite U.S. Navy Seabees, he served three and a half years in the South Pacific, and was part of the invasion of Saipan and Okinawa. He retired in 1986 from Caterpillar, Inc. after 24 years of service as a Quality Control Inspector. Lifetime member of the VFW Stone City Post #2199. He was an avid gardener and landscaper, who in his younger years, worked for his father's landscaping business. Active at the Resident Council at the Timbers of Shorewood.
Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly (nee Williams) Moretti; his children, Georgia (James) Ellars of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas (Sandy) Moretti of Joliet, David Moretti of Lisle and Alan (Marie) Moretti of Shorewood; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Capps, Kristen Eneix, Tommy Moretti, Stephanie Moretti, Dominic Moretti, Nicholas Moretti and Alexander Moretti; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Capps.
Preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Joseph Moretti; and his parents, Alphonso "Frank" and Giorgia (nee Nutini) Moretti.

Funeral Services for Thomas L. Moretti will be Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
