Obituary of Gregory Neumann
Neumann, Gregory G.
Age 63, of Yorkville and formerly of Crest Hill, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. He was born in Florida on April 4, 1949 to the late Dorothy (Hacker) and Walter Neumann. He was raised in this area and attended Plainfield Grade Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967 at Plainfield High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
He was an entrepreneur and the owner of The Fields on Caton Farm, Inc. and was former owner along with his brother, Ken, of Neumann's Nursery. His passion was his authentic Midwest Indian artifact collection of which he wrote papers and received many awards.
Loving and most gentle husband of Diane Hucek for 20 wonderful years; world's greatest dad and mentor of Brian Neumann; fond brother of Kenneth (Dawn) Neumann; also survived by dearest sister-in-law and friend, Gina Hucek; as well as his nieces, Amy (Ben), Laura, Katie (Trevor), Hannah, and Leah.
Preceded in death by his parents; and dear friend and mentor, Al Abate.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather at St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, your prayers and masses preferred. Arrangements by:
