Obituary of Lois Nicholson
Lois P. Nicholson
Age 81, of Morris, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Walnut Grove Nursing Home, Morris. Born August 20, 1929 in Chicago to George and Elizabeth (nee Leike) White, she was a graduate of Joliet Junior College. Her career included working for Alliant Technology and Starmans Office Supply. She also was employed as a broker/realtor for E.R.A. She retired as Wilmington Township Tax Assessor.
Lois was a wonderful person who lead a phenominal life. She will be remembered for being an accomplished music teacher, and for her sewing skills which she used to make uniforms and costumes over many years. She also enjoyed photography and was a member of the Wilmington Women of the Moose.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 61 years, Donald E. Nicholson of Morris; one daughter, Joan (Brian) Smolinski of North Aurora; one son, Edward Nicholson of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Tricia (James) Feffer, and Dustin and Derek Nicholson; one great-granddaughter, Emily Feffer; one sister, Marie (Earl) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Nicholson (2002); her parents; four brothers, George, Ken, John and Harold White; and one sister, Nancy Martin.
Memorial services for Lois Nicholson will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private. Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at:
