Obituary of M O'Connor

O'Connor, Virginia M. (nee Garmon) Age 80. Suddenly Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical as the result of an apparent heart attack. Born in Chatsworth, IL, formerly of Pekin and a long time Shorewood, Illinois resident. Former coowner and operator of the Tom O'Connor Driving Range. A member of the women's golf league at Inwood and Woodruff Golf Courses, also a member of the Town and Country Women's Bowling League. Her great loves in life were spending time with her family especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded by her parents, Hebron and Mary (nee Mosby) Garmon; three sisters Nina (Walt) Flessner, Dorothy (George) Perkins and Shelby (Hank) Acquino; two brothers, Ray Garmon and Donald Garmon. Survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Tom O'Connor, long time golf pro of the Joliet area. Three daughters, Jackie (Mike) Lendzion of Rolling Meadows, Becky Franklin of Mackinaw, Illinois and Terry (Steve) Funk of Pekin, Illinois. Six grandchildren, Nick, Kevin (Laura) and Samantha Lendzion, Molly Tesdall, Katie (Shae) Birkey and Tyler (Dara) Funk. Two great-grandchildren, Emma and Logan. Four sisters, Ruby (the late Glen) Benway of Washington, Illinois, Geneva (the late Kenneth) Dancy of Bismarck, Illinois, Sandy (Don) Wilson of Bismarck, Illinois and Judy Willis of Danville, Illinois. One brother, Ronald Garmon of Tilton, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Linda Garmon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Virginia M. O'Connor will be Friday, December 2, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel as it was Virginia's request Cremation rites have been accorded.
