Obituary of Genevieve Onderisin

Onderisin, Genevieve M. (Nee Fuhrmann) Age 93, peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended Blackhawk College, Joliet Junior College, and the College of St. Francis. A graduate of St. Francis Academy and St. John the Baptist Catholic School. A life long learner with an artistic flair, she painted, worked with clay, and volunteered at the Rialto Theater. However her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Survived by three daughters, Elaine of Vashon, WA, Therese (James Postel) Onderisin of Seattle, WA, and Margaret M. Davis of Joliet; six grandchildren, Amy (Bernard Koontz) Postel, Gregory Postel, and Sarah Postel of Seattle, WA; William B. (Jennifer) Davis III of Minooka, Stephen M. (Pam Graf) Davis of River Grove, IL, and Jenna (Philip) Boersma of Joliet; six great-grandchildren: Caleb and Marissa Davis; Felix and Xavier Koontz, Andrew Boersma, and Michael Davis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by her cherished husband, Chester, (2009); parents, Edward and Theresa (nee Knoerzer) Fuhrmann; brother, Edward Fuhrmann; one sister in infancy, Alma Marie; aunt Genevieve Knoerzer; uncle Frank Knoerzer Funeral Services for Genevieve M. Onderisin will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. John Cemetery.
