Obituary of Juan Oropez

Juan F. Oropez Age 66, of Glendale Heights, IL., passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. Anthony Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. He was born August 17, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX. to the late Naomi (Flores) and Juan Oropez. He was a proud member of the National Guard, and was employed for many years as an over the road truck driver. He was the beloved husband of Karen; beloved father of Phillip (Nancy) Oropez, Ailane Zaragoza and Alane Carrillo. Proud grandfather of Frank (Cindy) Zaragoza, Angelina Carrillo, Ricardo Carrillo, Leticia Carrillo, Luis Zaragoza, Reuben Zaragoza, Veronica Zaragoza, Kristen Oropez and Adriana Oropez. Great grandfather of Ricardo and Alyssa Carillo; Jacob, Leilani, Isabella and Christian Zaragoza and Esmerelda Remington. Dear brother of Elias, Ricardo and Juanito Woods Oropez, all of Chicago, and Juan Oropez III of Corpus Christi and three sisters, Eldemira Rode, Diana Ann Cruz, Judy Lynn Heslip, all of Corpus Christi,TX. His aunt Hortensia Aviles and uncle Gregorio Aviles as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Frank Flores, who helped raise Juan, and two brothers, Frank and Alfonso Flores. Juan, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, work ethic and loyalty. Funeral services for Juan F. Oropez will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Visitation Wednesday morning, from 9 :00 a.m. until the services begin at: FRED C.
