Filipello Ortega, Brent Anthony
Of Braidwood, passed away suddenly, at age 21, on Thursday, November 24, 2011.
Born January 4, 1990 in Elmhurst, he was a graduate of Braidwood High School. At age 17, Brent felt the call to serve, joined the United States Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan. His circle of friends included the many guests he served at America's Kitchen and City of Champions. He was a good soul, loyal friend and a good son.
Surviving are his beloved parents, Robert G. and Marsha (nee Filipello) Ortega; two brothers, Brandon Filipello and Robert "Tico" Filipello Ortega; grandparents, Lynda (late Michael Angelo) Filipello and Epifanio Ortega and the late Inez Gonzales; his aunts, Tina (Michael) Biancofiori and Angela (Anthony) Chimino; his uncles, Anthony (Kuniko) Filipello, Mario Ortega, Adolfo Ortega, Sipriana Ortega and Rosario Ortega; three great-uncles, James, Frank and Henry Filipello; his cousins, Gianna, Nicole, Matthew, Angela, Michael and Jenna; his soul mate, Jessica Velemir; and his canine son, Gucci.
Brent's family and friends are all invited to share in a celebration of his life on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private. Memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at:
