Obituary of Leonard Osmus
Leonard Lewis Osmus
Age 78, late of Owensboro, KY, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008. Born August 11, 1929 in New Lenox, IL and a former long time resident of Plainfield. Leonard was a 1947 Joliet Township High School graduate. He served in the United States Army in Germany with the Engineering Topographic Corp (1951-1952). A former active member of the Joliet Elks Lodge #296 and the Will County Senior Center. More recently with the Daviess County Senior Center in Owensboro, KY, and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Owensboro. Retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1988 after 41 years of service. Leonard enjoyed his computer, along with card playing, bowling and golf.
Survived by his loving wife, Joan Marie (nee Gatons) Osmus, whom he married January 31, 1951; his three daughters, Lori Lynn Osmus-Kappmeyer (Robert Kappmeyer) of Ames, IA, Landra Lee (Mark) Stonich of Tucson, AZ and Linda Lou (David Jr.) Rudd of Crest Hill; one grandson, Christopher A. Stonich and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Rose Stonich of Tucson; his sister, Vivian Nowels of Phoenix; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha (nee Zentarski) Osmus; is brothers, Donald and Gordon Osmus.
Funeral services for Leonard L. Osmus will be Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. Visitation TUESDAY MORNING 10:00 a.m. until time of services at:
