Vernice A. Palmer
(nee Edberg)
Age 95. Passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Late of Joliet, and a former Oak Lawn and Hickory Hills resident. Born January 14, 1916, the daughter of the late Freda (Swanson) and John Edberg, she was raised and educated in Felch, Michigan.
Surviving are her three children, Glenn R. (Gail) Palmer, Ronald C. (Debbie) Palmer, and Patricia "Trish" (Kit) Gillman; her grandchildren, Gregory Palmer, Nicholas Palmer, Ryan Allen, and Christopher Gillman; and many nieces and nephews in Michigan.
Preceded in death by her husband, Glenn (1998); two sisters, Ruth Nelson and Melba Anderson; four brothers, Helmer, Ewald, Arnold, Melvin and infant brother, Carl.
Vernice A. Palmer will Lie in State on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 19901 S. Houbolt Rd., Joliet from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:00 a.m. Rev. David Nygard will officiate. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Worth, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Metropolitan, MI., or Messiah Lutheran Church. Visitation Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. at:
