Obituary of Benjamin Metoyer SR

Benjamin Metoyer, Sr. Benjamin Metoyer, Sr., age 68, of Romeoville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 14, 1941 in Louisiana, he was the son of Joseph Arthur and Irma E. (nee Christophe) Metoyer. He enjoyed gardening and camping, and especially liked visiting his family. Survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Ella Priscilla (nee Metoyer) Metoyer; two sons, Benjamin B. (Daniel Seebauer) Metoyer, Jr. and Robert Metoyer; one grandson, Robert M. Newell; one brother, Willie F. (Rose Marie) Metoyer; four sisters, Mattie Rose (late Edward) Antee, Alice Mae Llorens, Cora (Luke) Sarpy, and Mary Rachal; a sister-in-law, Carrie Metoyer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded by his parents; two brothers, Raymond (Beatrice) Metoyer and Julian Metoyer; and two sisters, Carmel (Augustin) Metoyer and Roberta (Alfred) Llorens. Funeral services for Benjamin Metoyer, Sr. will be Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Romeoville, for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Assistance in Health Care, 2520 Elisha Avenue, Zion, IL 60099 would be appreciated.
