Peters, Lee W. Sr.
Age 64, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 26, 2011, after a two year battle against cancer, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by his family.
He was born December 14, 1946 in Joliet to the late Pauline (Nelson) and Robert Peters, was raised in Lockport, graduated from Lockport Central High and attended Eastern Illinois University on a music scholarship.
Beloved father of Danielle (Scott) Carpenter, Lisa Peters, Lora Peters and Lee Peters, Jr.; proud grandfather of Tyler and Cole Peters; dear brother of Del (Jan) Peters, Keith Peters and Linda (Jim) O'Donnell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Lee, a charismatic salesman, was employed for many years as an Insurance agent for Country Companies in Joliet. For the past five years, he had resided in Fort Lauderdale, FL and was a sales associate at City Furniture. He was an animal lover, an avid golfer and accomplished musician (saxophone and oboe), who enjoyed woodworking.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 12:00 noon until a Memorial Service begins at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the family. Arrangements by:
