Obituary of Robert Peterson
Robert F. Peterson
Age 89. At rest Friday, October 23, 2009 with his family at his side, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home. Born in Joliet January 20, 1920 to the late Frank and Mary (nee Burnham) Peterson, he was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet Catholic High School class of 1937 and the University of Chicago in 1941 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Formerly employed by Texaco Inc. in various capacities, retiring as supervisor of Human/Labor Relations following 39 years of service. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Holy Name Society and the Medicare Swingers Golf League. He was also a loyal volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital, the Shepherds Table and for meals on wheels.
Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Gerry S. (nee Roder) Peterson of Joliet; two sons, Jeffrey J. (Norene) Peterson of Crest Hill and James G. Peterson; two granchildren, Amber and Jeffrey Peterson both of Crest Hill. Devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own children.
Funeral services for Robert F. Peterson will be Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Ave., Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Cathedral of St. Raymond or Our Lady of Angels would be appreciated. Visitation Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Our Lady of Angels. Arrangements by:
