Obituary of Istvan Pethes

Pethes, Istvan M. Age 66, of Plainfield and formerly of Streator, IL and Chesterton, IN, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at home after a courageous battle against cancer. Born December 6, 1944 in Budapest, Hungary to the late Istvan and Ilona (nee Feher) Pethes, he was raised in England before emigrating to the United States. Survived by his wife, Judy (Dendy-Grunnet) Pethes; two sons, Sandor and Laszlo Pethes; stepdaughter, Erin Grunnet; stepson, Joe (Stacy) Grunnet; grandson, William Joseph Grunnet; sister, Ilona "Dite" (Karoly) Kremer; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by Sammie, his faithful canine companion. Istvan retired from Cabot Micro Electronics of Aurora. He was previously employed for over 40 years by Fairmount Minerals in Wedron, IL. He enjoyed woodworking, car rallying, pool, darts, and will also be fondly remembered as a great cook and host. All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
