June L. Phillips
(nee Kwasegroch)
Age 87. Passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Lakewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born February 11, 1923 in Joliet, she was a lifetime Joliet and Plainfield area resident. Graduate of St. John School and St. Francis Academy. Previously employed by Argonne National Laboratory and Uniroyal. June was an avid bowler, and a supportive softball and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survived by two daughters, Judith (Larry) Kachel of Plainfield and Susan (Nicholas) Seehafer of Moline; six grandchildren, Dana (Keri Ruddy) Seehafer, Megan (Ryan) Early, Jennifer (Kevin) Healy, Joelle (William) Hickey, Janiece (Jeff) Bersky, and Jillian Kachel; one great-grandson, Luke; seven step great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alex, Adam, Mollie, Lauren, Alexandra and Ian; one sister, Phyllis (Vern) Pershey of Joliet; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her father, Albert Kwasegroch; her mother and stepfather, Madeline (nee Foley) and Joseph Walsh; one brother in infancy, former husband, Raymond R. Phillips and her loving aunt and uncle, Marguerite and Thomas Rink.
Funeral Services for June L. Phillips will be Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Private interment St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Chicago Cubs Care, Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA) or U of I Champaign, IL Jorgenson Fund (Fraternity/Sorority Affairs) would be appreciated.
