Obituary of Ida Plyer

Ida M. Plyer (nee Randles) Age 79. Peacefully, Sunday April 5, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family by her side, following a lingering illness. Born January 14, 1930 in Buckingham, IL. Mrs. Plyer was a 20-year member of the Joliet Planning Commission. She also served on the Joliet Mass Transit Board for many years. Preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Plyer in 1986; parents, John and Margaret Randles; five brothers; and three sisters. Survived by two daughters, Rita (Ray) Baxter and Rose (Tim) Kerr; three sons, Brian (Daniele), Keith (Kathy), and Mark (Christina) Plyer all of Joliet; seven grandchildren, Julie Hoover, Brian, Lucia, Kristin and Kelly Plyer, Matt (Jen) and Mike Baxter; three great-granddaughters, Emma, Anna and Olivia Baxter. Funeral Services for Ida M. Plyer will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jim McGuire officiating. As it was Ida's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
