Obituary of John Burnette
Burnette, John W.
Age 67, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at home. John was born November 8, 1945 and grew up in Lockport, Illinois. He was a U.S. Navy Seaman who served in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Burnette and his loving partner Nancy Annis.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Burnette; sister, Janet (Bob) Perveiler and his two daughters, Barbara Burnette-Baran and Kellie Burnette-Pannepacker; Nancy's daughter, Abby and honorary daughter, Laurie Allen. He is also survived by his three grandsons, Nicholas (Brittany) Baran, Tyler Baran and Aidan Pannepacker; and nephew, Michael Pervieler.
He graduated from Lockport Central High School 1963. John was an avid bass guitarist, golfer, photographer, reader and teacher. He held degrees in graphic arts and photography from the University of Illinois Chicago. He was retired, while working he was an adjunct faculty teacher at JJC teaching electrical codes, seminar instructor, electrician and worked for many years at Hines VA Hospital in Maywood.
Memorial Service for John W. Burnette will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Inurnment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood where full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
