Obituary of Clare Postel

Clare L. Postel (nee McCarthy) Age 83. At rest Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Survived by nine of her ten children, James (Therese Orderisin) Postel of Seattle, WA, Mary (Robert) Nemanich of Scottsdale, AZ, Nancy Murphy of Joliet, Rita Postel, Joan (Ron) Nurczyk, Mike (Nancy) Postel, Dan (Barb) Postel, Ann Postel all of the Joliet/Crest Hill area and Leo (Brigitte) Postel of Lisle. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, Amy Postel (Bernard) Koontz, Greg Postel and Sarah C. Postel of Seattle, WA, Todd (Athena) Nemanich of Richmond, VA, Mark and Ross Nemanich of Tempe, AZ, Michelle (Scott) Allen of Joliet, Sarah A. Postel of Chicago, Trina (Jerome) Semoes of California, Nick Postel of California, Shannon Postel of Michigan, Cassie and Kelli Clement of Crest Hill, and Kaylee and Olivia Postel of Plainfield. Also step-grandchildren, Ryan and Colleen Nurczyk and their girls, Haley and Ava, Justin and Nicole Nurczyk and their children, Chase and Teagan, Rick Backensto, Nannette and Jared Bailey and their daughter, Hailey and Deserae and Chris Frye and their children, Camille, Alyssa and Nolan, Adam Rodriguez of Scottsdale, AZ, and Tristan, Ellia and Collin Leger of Lisle. Great-Grandchildren Felix Postel Koontz and Xavier Postel Koontz of Seattle, WA, Cora Louise Nemanich of Richmond, VA, Ashley, Zachary, Emma and Christopher Allen of Joliet, Seth and Brennan Semoes of California. Also surviving are her sister, Cele Ann (Rich) Ivnik of Springfield, sister-in-law Mary (late Ray) Ditsch of Joliet, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Previously employed by ComEd, Goldblatts, and Burger King. Clare was a very persevering lady. She was a loving and caring Mom and had a very strong faith throughout her life. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Crest Hill and past choir member of St. Anne. Postel (2005); parents, Francis J. and Clara E. (Haverstuhl) McCarthy; brother, James Richard McCarthy; two granddaughters, Kristine Murphy (2001) and Nichole Murphy (1972). Funeral Services for Clare L. Postel will be Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Donations in Clare's name to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
