Obituary of Stella Protich

Stella E. Protich (nee Johnson) Age 86. Peacefully Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, with her family by her side. Born in Lockport and a lifelong Lockport, Minooka and Joliet area resident. A graduate of Lockport Township High School. Retired from the Texaco Refinery in Lockport after many years of service, as a secretary. Following her retirement, she worked hand in hand with her husband, Dr. Bosko Protich, in his medical office. A member of the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Lockport, and member of the Eastern Star. Stella sacrificed unselfishly for the sake of her family and often was the unsung hero behind the scenes. Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bosko Protich, M.D. (1984); her parents, Edward and Hanna Johnson; and one brother, Walter (Irma) Johnson. Survived by one son, Raymond (Teresa) Protich of Plainfield; one daughter, Elizabeth Protich of Joliet; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Alyssa and Hannah Protich; and Jeremy Ervins; and two nieces and three nephews. Stella E. Protich will Lie in State on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 925 E. 9th Street, Lockport from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Interment Lockport City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church or Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Pastoral Care Department would be appreciated.
