Obituary of Alice Ranzini

Ranzini, Alice J. (nee Ramuta) Age 87, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 26, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at her residence, Senior Star at Weber Place. Born on August 31, 1923, Alice was both a lifelong resident of Joliet and parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Raymond. Alice is survived by her two sons, Bob (Karen) Ranzini and Jack (Nannette) Ranzini; five cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Shannon, Lacy and Tony Ranzini; as well as sisters, Ann Shurna, Mirt (George) Leimbacher, Lou (Ed) Ruettiger, Janet Brink, and Fran (Dick) Murphy; brothers, Matt (Judy) Ramuta and William (Bev) Ramuta; brothers-in-law, Brunch (Carol) Lehman, Arnie (Judy) Juricic, and Bert Neill, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Louis (1991); daughter, Mary Beth (1953) in infancy; mother, Alice (Noonan) Ramuta; parents, Matthew and Mary (Kwasneiski) Ramuta; sisters, Florence Neill, Joan Juricic, Betty Lehman; sister-in-law, Joan Ramuta; brothers-in-law, John Shurna, and Dick Brink; and niece, Kim Juricic. Alice was proud to have been in one of the first classes at St. Raymond Grade School and St. Francis Academy. She retired from Illinois Bell after 30 years of service. Alice courageously persevered since her stroke on her 87th birthday nine months ago. Thank you to her long time friends and new friends at Senior Star for their compassion and goodness; to the caregivers at Senior Star especially her aides Michelle and Rosie; to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, specifically her nurse Mary Macfarlane for her kindness, support, and professionalism; and finally to Jean Konrad, heartfelt thanks to a genuine saint, who has always been there for Alice and her family. Funeral Services for Alice J. Ranzini will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cathedral of St. Raymond School or Joliet Area Community Hospice in Alice's name would be appreciated.
