Obituary of Sister OSF

Sister M. Rosita Renschen, OSF Sr. M. Rosita (Catherine)Renschen, OSF (1918 - 2008) died peacefully at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home on November 6, 2008. Born in Siegel, IL, she was one of 8 children born to Bernard and Elizabeth (Wente) Renschen. She is survived by her sister, Bertha, (Joliet, IL), and her brother Roger (Mary Jane) (Effingham, IL). Sr. Rosita was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ralph, and Henry and her sisters Helen (Ben) Mihlbachler, Celeste (Albert) Willenborg, and Rosemary. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree at the College of St. Francis (now the University of St. Francis) in Joliet, Sr. Rosita began her ministry in the field of Education. She received a Master of Education in School Administration from DePaul University, Chicago, IL. in 1969. She served as a teacher, principal or tutor for over 26 years in schools throughout Illinois and Mansfield, Ohio. She also served in Parish Ministry at St. Mary Parish in Bloomington, IL for 10 years. For the last 8 years she has been a resident at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home where her final years were devoted to prayer and visiting with her sister, Bertha. The wake will be at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL (Wyoming and Rt. 30) on Monday, November 10, 2008, from 2:00 - 6:45 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 4:45 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will leave from Our Lady of Angels on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. The Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.
