Nathan Resis
Age 98, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Mr. Resis served with the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II from 1942-46, and was the former president and owner of Cash Wholesale Produce Company. He was a member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation and a 75-year member of the Joliet YMCA.
Beloved husband of 64 years to Kay (nee Field) Resis of Joliet; loving father of Sandra Resis of Salem, OR, Idelle (late Brian) Winer of St. Louis, MO, and Michael Resis of Chicago; devoted grandfather of Dr. Jennifer Rogosin, Dr. Shane (Dr. Elizabeth) Rogosin and Leah Winer; proud great-grandfather of Steven and Anna Rogosin; dear brother of Dr. Albert Resis of DeKalb; fond brother-in-law of Dr. Sid (Shirley) Field; loving uncle to Robert (Leslie) Resis, Dr. Steven (Dr. Nancy) Resis, Sharon (Christopher) Grew, Harry (Bette) Resis, Jr., Albert Leo Resis, Patricia Simms and Paul Beaver.
Preceded by his parents, Samuel ben Zvi and Hinda (Bekker) Resis; one sister, Fay (Maurice) Singer; brothers, Harry, Abe and George Resis; his wife's parents, Bessie and Sam Field; two brothers-in-law, Maurie Singer and Maurie Field; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia (Seymour) Beaver.
Funeral services for Nathan Resis will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Jewish Congregation, 250 N. Midland Ave., Joliet, IL, 60435 would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at:
