"Bud"
Age 88, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at Morris Hospital. Born January 2, 1924 in Joliet, he was a distinguished World War II veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard an LST. Retired from E.J.& E. where he worked as a yard master and train master. He loved golf and won numerous trophies. Member of VFW Cantigny Post #367, Morris Country Club, and the Morris Moose Lodge. Donald enjoyed life to the fullest, and will be missed. He also dearly loved his faithful dachshunds, Blue Boy
Survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor B. (nee Kolakowski) Resler of Wilmington; two sisters, Betty Lou (late John) Wortman of Joliet and Patricia Ericson of Florida; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and his close friends from his life on the Kankakee River in Wilmington.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret (nee Thompson) Resler; and two brothers in infancy.
Funeral Services for Donald T. Resler will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Crest Hill. Memorials to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital would be appreciated. Visitation today, Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at:
