Obituary of Daniel Bernickus

Daniel G. Bernickus Age 40. Suddenly, Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his late residence. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended St. Mary Nativity and St. John the Baptist Grade Schools, and Joliet Central High School. Formerly employed at the Joliet Park District Airport, Meyer Plumbing, Arnie's Paint Supply and Southwest Suburban Office Machines. A Chicago Blackhawks fan, a self-taught guitar enthusiast and the biggest KISS fan known to man. Preceded by his father Alex Bernickus (1993); maternal grandparents Gib and Marie Bauer; paternal grandparents, Alex and Helen Bernickus. Survived by one daughter, Rebecca Bernickus; his mother, Carrie Bernickus both of Joliet; one brother, Rick (Marcy) Bernickus of Morris; two nephews, Ryan and Matt Bernickus; one niece, Kellen Bernickus; and his former wife and friend, Lisa Ksiakiewicz also survives. Funeral Services for Daniel G. Bernickus will be Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. As it was Daniel's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Daybreak Shelter or St. John's Food Pantry in his name would be appreciated. No Visitation. Arrangements by: FRED C.
