Rittof, Edward R. Sr.
"Beans"
Age 91. Passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Joliet to the late Michael and Anna (nee Gaydos) Rittof, he was a lifelong Joliet/Channahon resident. Edward and Jessie owned and operated Rittof's Restaurant & Lounge for 26 years, retiring in 1987. Member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon. Edward was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and served his country during WWII.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Jessie L. Rittof; one son, Frederick Rittof; four brothers, Jack Rittof, Michael Rittof, Steve Rittof, and Leonard Rittof; seven sisters, Ann Grenchick, Pauline Suca, Margaret Suca, Mary Seeley-Derlinga, Josephine Lyons-Grenchick, Lucile Bajt, and Rose Rittof; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Survived by three sons, Edward (Brenda) Rittof, Jr. of Channahon, Paul (Pamela) Rittof of Quincy, IL and Michael Rittof of Channahon; daughter-in-law, Colleen Rittof of Channahon; ten grandchildren, Robert Rittof, Frederick (Tracie) Rittof, Kathleen (Dr. William, M.D.) Kosmala, Edward D. Rittof, Donald Rittof, Jennifer (Brian) Kursell, Christine (Brad) Lackey, Jennifer (Matt) Baker, Marissa Rittof and Anthony Rittof; five great-grandchildren, Cameron and Owen Kosmala; Jonathan and Alexis Lackey; and Caden Kursell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

"Beans" Rittof, Sr. will Lie in State on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 24500 Navajo Dr., Channahon until the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials in his name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center Activities Department or Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools Foundation, Quincy, IL would be appreciated.
