Jessie L. Rittof
(nee Lagrimini)
Age 87. Passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at Morris Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Joliet to the late Posco and Jennie (nee Blanco) Lagrimini, she was a lifelong Joliet/Channahon resident. Jessie and her husband, Edward, owned and operated Rittof's Restaurant & Lounge for 26 years, retiring in 1987. Member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon.
Preceded in death by one son, Frederick Rittof; brother, Lawrence Lagrimini; a brother in infancy; and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Costiloe; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward R. "Beans" Rittof, Sr. of Channahon; three sons, Edward (Brenda) Rittof of Channahon, Paul (Pamela) Rittof of Quincy, IL and Michael Rittof of Channahon; daughter-in-law, Colleen Rittof of Channahon; ten grandchildren, Robert Rittof, Frederick (Tracie) Rittof, Kathy (Dr. William, M.D.) Kosmala, Edward Rittof, Donald Rittof, Jennifer (fiance, Brian Kursell) Rittof, Christine (Brad) Lackey, Jennifer Hutson, Marissa Rittof and Anthony Rittof; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Owen Kosmala; and Jonathan and Alexis Lackey; one brother-in-law, Leonard (Beatrice) Rittof; and numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Beth Ann Boyer.
A special thank you to the caring staff at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and the intensive care unit at Morris Hospital.
Funeral Services for Jessie L. Rittof will be Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials in her name to Morris Hospital Foundation-Free Patient Transportation Service, Building Funds of St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Mary Catholic Church Minooka, or St. Peter Catholic Church Quincy, IL would be appreciated.
