Obituary of Eugene Rivera

Eugene J. Rivera Age 75, late of Morris, and formerly of New Lenox, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with his family at his side. Born June 17, 1935 in Joliet, to the late Manuel and Agnes (nee Videtich) Rivera, he was a graduate of St. Joseph Grade School, Joliet Catholic High School and Joliet Junior College. He served with the United States Army and retired from Commonwealth Edison after 39 years of service. Surviving are his best friend and faithful wife, Judith K. (nee Bailey) Rivera; his children, Danielle (Peter) Broughton of Rochelle, Richard (Lori) Rivera of Tracy, CA, Philip (Nora) Rivera of Reno, NV, and Kassi (Barry)Rivera- Zinker of Cedar Rapids, IA one stepson, Scott (Brandy) McQuen of Ottawa, IL; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Preceded by his parents, and one sister, Sr. Barbara Jean (Rita) Rivera. Funeral services for Eugene J. Rivera will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Steve Papilon officiating. Interment will full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
