Obituary of Frances Roberts

Frances D. Roberts (nee Dugan) Age 93. Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 4, 2011. Born in Shabbona, IL, she was a long time Joliet area resident. She attended Northwestern University. Employed as a secretary for eight years with Sears Roebuck Company, and later for Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, retiring in 1979. Preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary Ann (nee Murphy) Dugan; four brothers and two sisters. Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George S. Roberts; two daughters, Mary Ann (Steven) Smolkovich of Joliet, and Ellen Marie Roberts of Libertyville, IL; and two granddaughters, Katie Smolkovich of San Diego, CA, and Lori Smolkovich of Urbana, IL. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Cardiology, in particular Julie Frommelt, APRN, Dr. E. Chiu, and Dr. R. W. Schubert for their compassionate care. Funeral Services for Frances D. Roberts will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial masses for soul of Frances, donations to your local food pantry or homeless shelter, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
