Trinidad M. Rodriguez
Age 87, late of Crest Hill, died suddenly Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born August 24, 1920 in Verona, IL to the late Jesus and Frances Rodriguez, he had lived in Crest Hill for over a half century. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the European Theatre during WWII as an artillery Sergeant. He was the recipient of several ribbons and citations, including a Silver Battle Star. He retired from Material Service in 1983 after 37 years of dedicated service as a member of Operating Engineers Local #150. Previously employed (before and after the war) at Rock Island Railroad. A lifetime member of the American Legion John Olsen Post #18, VFW Post #5788 in Lockport and the Izaak Walton League. He was a member of St. Anne's Parish in Crest Hill.
Beloved father of Nancy (Bill) Fuller, Karen (Kieran) Moran, Barbara (Daniel) Postel and Thomas (Elizabeth) Rodriguez. Proud grandpa of Adam Rodriguez; Brendan and Ellen Moran; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Nell, Shannon and K.C. Brother of Emmanual (Katherine) Rodriguez and Angelina (late Ignacio) Hernandez. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary L. (nee Ganz), whom he married April 7, 1951; siblings, Bartolo, Alexander, Andrew, Joseph, Antonio, Mary Razo and Frances Rodriguez.
Triny will fondly be remembered as a devoted family man, who instilled a strong work ethic in his children. He was proud of his service to his country. He enjoyed gardening, cars, and dogs, but his true passion was his love for his family and their love for him.
Funeral Services for Trinidad M. Rodriguez will be Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery in Ransom, IL. Visitation today, Friday, from 4-8 p.m. at:
