Obituary of Rosemary Rubel
Rosemary J. Rubel
(nee Feil)
Age 83, of Joliet, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at Rosewood Care Center. Born July 25, 1925 in Chicago to Leo and Catherine (nee Marshall) Feil, she was the beloved wife of the late Wesley Egger and John Rubel.
Rosemary retired from AT&T in 1980, after 35 years of service as a long distance operator, and during retirement was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was the recipient of numerous commendations for her volunteer work which included Catholic Charities, Guardian Angel Home, Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Cornerstone Services, and CCDI. She was also an active member of numerous Joliet area clubs including St. Ambrose CCW, Our Lady of Angels Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, YMCA, American Legion Auxiliary and SFO. She also loved to travel.
Rosemary was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by her many dear friends.
Surviving are her two daughters, Catherine (Norbert) Gacek of Stickney, and Gail (late John Dee) Johnson of Cibolo, TX; four grandchildren, Anne (Robert) Stotler, John Gacek, Lance Gacek, and Robert Egger; eight great-grandchildren, Cathleen (Shawn) and Angela (John) Stotler, Rebecca, Matthew, Jennifer, and Lance Jr. Gacek, and Michael and Sarah Egger; and three great-great-grandchildren, Seth, Shawn and Emmerson.
Preceded by her husbands; one grandson, Mark Gacek; her parents; two brothers, Earl (Doris) and Roy (Marge) Feil; and two sisters, Colette (Russ) Jeanes and Marie (Ray) O'Barski.
Funeral services for Rosemary J. Rubel will be Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Crest Hill, for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park. Visitation Tuesday, from 2-8 p.m. at:
