Obituary of Vicki Salvino

Vicki Jean Salvino (nee DiGiovanni) This wonderful woman, age 70, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years, including at Provena Villa Franciscan Nursing Home. She especially enjoyed serving as an election judge for many years, and was stage manager for her husband's Elvis impersonation show. She also was active with the Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Group. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the annual family picnics for the past 30 years. She was an excellent Italian cook. Beloved wife of James R. Salvino; devoted mother of James William (April Mayle) Sullivan, Jeanne Marie (Michael Zionts) Petty, Patrick A. (Shirley M.) Sullivan and Marianne C. Sullivan; loving grandmother of Michelle Nicole (Carlos) Rivera, Lisa Marie Petty, Kyle Patrick Sullivan, Katelynn Jean Sullivan, Michael Mayle, Mitchell Mayle, Michael Hall Sullivan, Daniel Seasock, and Kimberly Lyn Seasock; fond aunt to Donald (Libby) Clark Dean Clark, Cheryl Morgan and Eddie Deems; great-aunt to Ava and Aiden Clark, Anthony Jr., Athena, Eddie Jr., and Ethan; and sister-in-law to Edward Deems. Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary (nee Scurti) DiGiovanni; and sister, Rose Ann Deems. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Holy Family Catholic Church, Shorewood, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
