Obituary of Elna Sampson

Elna E. Sampson (nee Kjellesvik) Mrs. Elna E. Sampson, 82, of Morris, passed away at Morris Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday evening, July 13, 2011, and immediately into the presence of her beloved Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Elna was born April 7, 1929 to Ole and Martha (Berge) Kjellesvik. She attended school in Morris. On January 19, 1950, she married Arnold Sampson and they lived all of their married life in Morris. Elna loved her church family at Fox River Lutheran Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, spending quality time with family and friends and writing poetry. She also enjoyed greeting old friends and making new ones during her weekly shopping trips to Wal-Mart. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lingle and Kathy Schaefer, and a son, Larry (Carolyn) Sampson all of Morris, nine grandchildren and five (soon to be six) great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces & nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Arnold (on March 25, 1986), her mother and father; sisters Alice Butterfield and Marge Sheridan; and brothers Roy, Lawrence, Orvin, Eddie, William (Pick), Tilman, Kenneth, Carl, Alfred and Edmund Kjellesvik. Preferred forms of memorials may be given to An Orphan's Prayer (www.orphansprayer.org) or to the donor's choice. Visitation will be held Monday, July 18 at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home at 1201 W.
