Obituary of John Sarna

John W. Sarna "Jack" Age 71. Friday, May 30, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. A former resident of Chicago, he had resided in Channahon for the past nine years. Born in Chicago to the late John and Rita (nee O'Brien) Sarna. A member of the Printers Union for 15 years, he also retired after over 20 years of proud service as a garbage man for the City of Chicago. He was a lifelong White Sox fan, an avid fisherman and gardener; who was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia (nee Pienta) Sarna; one son, John (Mary Ellen) Sarna; six grandchildren, Carilyn, Daniel, Katharine, Kelly, Johnny and James; one brother, Tom (Arlene) Sarna; nephew, Michael; niece, Denise and cousin, Barbara Blazek. Funeral Services for John W. Sarna will be Monday, June 2, 2008 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon where he will Lie in State from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
