Obituary of Daisy Scarboro

Daisy Helois Scarboro Age 85. Entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Elizabethtown, Illinois to the late Charles and Mabel (nee Carmen) Gerhardt, she resided in Joliet for many years. Daisy was an avid gardener; she loved flowers and it was evident in the beautiful blooms that filled her home. A member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus and former member of the American Italian Cultural Society. She will fondly be remembered as a kind and gentle woman with a generous spirit and sunny disposition. Preceded in death by her devoted husband of 49 1/2 years, Charles H. Scarboro; her parents; two brothers, Charles (late Blanche) and Clewis (late Alena) Gerhardt; and her sister, Alma (late Leonard) Wentz. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mary H. Scarboro of Joliet and M. Kathleen Scarboro of Joliet and Paris, France; one grandson, Jerome Kugel of Paris, France; two brothers, Bill (Dorothy) and Bob (Ann) Gerhardt; many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family of Daisy Scarboro would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Provena Villa Franciscan, Autumn Day Care and Community Care for the compassion and comfort; with special thanks to their mothers' caregivers, Mary, Deb, Alice, Yvonne and Ron for the loving attention and TLC that was constantly shown her. As it was Daisy's desire, her remains have been transferred to the Illinois Anatomical Gift Association to further medical research. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Today, Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Rodney Juell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Daisy's name to the Alzheimers Association would be appreciated.
