Obituary of Bertha Schauer

Bertha M. Schauer Age 93, of Joliet, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center. Born in Joliet May 16, 1918, she was a lifelong Joliet resident and faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a graduate of St. John Grade School and Joliet Township High School. Bertha worked for nearly 40 years for the former Union National Bank, retiring in 1980. Survived by her sister, Dorothe (late Cecil) Cavanaugh of Franklin, TN and formerly of Newell, IA; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (nee Goestel) Schauer; three sisters, Marie Kramer, Bernadine Hoffmeyer and Cecelia Schauer; and three brothers, John, Joseph and George in infancy. Funeral Services for Bertha M. Schauer will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
